Musically based on his Celtic roots, Gordon Belsher’s show features an engaging variety of songs, stories, and instrumentals.  His solo recordings include his own compositions, along with covers of East Coast songwriters, Irish medleys and classics, and fresh acoustic takes on a few 60's pop tunes.

 

Recipient of the Prince Edward Island Music Association “Lifetime Achievement Award”, Gordon Belsher has been performing in Canada and around the world for more than 50 years. He is a fixture of the Island music scene, based out of his home in southeast PEI. As accompanist and featured vocalist with PEI fiddlers Richard Wood, and Cynthia MacLeod, Gordon has toured across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Europe, Australia and Japan. His solo CD’s have been up for and won PEI Music Awards and Canada's East Coast Music Awards.

 

Career highlights include:

    - Performing as a duo with Prince Edward Island fiddler Cynthia MacLeod, 2002-2024

       - Several tours to the New England states, and across Canada
    - “Back Home Tonight” concert series in Stanley Bridge, PEI 2022-2024.

    - Touring with PEI fiddling dynamo Richard Wood, 1996-2019, including:
        - Touring to the UK, Europe, US, across Canada

        - “A Sound Celebration” with Symphony Nova Scotia at ECMA 2011
        - Vancouver Olympics, 2010
        - the cultural delegation for Team Canada in Tokyo, Japan in 1999
        - CBC TV Canada Day on Parliament Hill, Ottawa in 1998
    - Performing in “Celtic Blaze” with Stephanie Cadman at the 2006 Charlottetown Festival
    - Composing and performing the anthem for the 2004 Special Olympics Winter Games  
    - Owner/engineer/producer of Guernsey Cove Parlour Productions,
        six time “Studio of the Year” nominee at Canada’s East Coast Music Awards
